Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
Affable is operated by VERISYN TECHNOLOGIES LTD, a company registered in Ghana (“Affable”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the Affable app, affable.info, and our live book launches at launch.affable.info, and what we do with it.
Who is responsible
VERISYN TECHNOLOGIES LTD is responsible for your personal information. Our address is Nuumo Nablah Street, close to Betone SA and Latter Days Saint Church, Kpone Komkompe, Accra, Ghana. For anything about your data, email support@affable.info.
What we collect
When you sign up for a launch:
- your name and email address;
- your phone number, if you give it for text reminders;
- your country and time zone;
- two separate choices, each recorded with the time you made it: whether you agreed to the event terms, and whether you’d like to hear about future books.
During a live launch:
- your chat messages, questions, reactions, and answers to polls and prompts;
- reports you make about messages;
- if you raise your hand and join the stage: your camera and microphone, only after you turn them on, and your recording consent.
When you buy or give:
- what you bought or gave, the amount, the payment method type and the payment reference;
- for a printed copy: your delivery name, phone number, delivery location and any dedication name.
We don’t see or store your full card or mobile-money details; our payment providers handle those. If you give anonymously, your name isn’t shown anywhere, and we keep your email only for your receipt and for refunds.
If you speak at a launch (author, reviewer or performer):
- your name, role, short biography and photo, as you agree with us;
- your recorded video, if you send one;
- your recording consent.
These are shown only to guests inside the live event, from when doors open, and in the replay.
In the Affable app:
- your account (name, email);
- the books you own;
- your reading progress, highlights and notes;
- purchase records from the App Store or Google Play.
Technical information: basic device and error information, so we can keep the service working.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use only what’s needed to make Affable work: a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and storage in your browser or app for things like your reading position and text size. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, so we don’t ask for cookie consent.
Why we use it
- To run the launch you signed up for: your personal link, reminders, the live event and the replay.
- To take payments and deliver what you bought or gave, including adding ebooks to your Affable library.
- To send receipts and important service messages.
- To send news about future books, only if you said yes. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep events safe and respectful (moderation), keep the service secure, and meet legal and tax obligations.
Recordings
Live launches are recorded and a replay is made available. The replay shows the stage only. Guests appear in it only if they joined the stage and agreed to be recorded. Chat names aren’t part of the replay.
